Construction & Facilities Management

The Construction Management Major is designed to give students abilities in construction management by providing a broad background in construction technology, business, architecture, and engineering, with specific emphasis on management within the construction industry. Career opportunities include management positions such as superintendents, estimators, schedulers, field engineers, inspectors, general contractors, sales representatives, and construction insurance or bonding personnel.

73 percent of facility costs take place after the construction of a building. The Facility and Property Management Major prepares students for careers managing the real estate portfolio and facilities that are a critical part of any business entity. Energy costs are soaring and there is a scramble to determine the best ways to better manage and control costs. Adapting to new technologies in our buildings is becoming a major concern and challenge. This program's graduates are well positioned to become leaders of the future of facility management and meet this crying need.
